What’s this? Not a cupcake? Well, I knew the time had to come, and it was a lot less painful than I imagined. The cupcakes were becoming a bit of a rut—a delicious, delicious rut—and there’s always something new and exciting on the horizon. So, without further ado… the Whoopie Pie.
The suggestion for this came from my good friend Lauren (holla), who tweeted me that I would not regret red velvet whoopie pies. And let me just say, no regrets here. These little dudes are really tasty and not overly-complicated: my two requirements for excellent food.
Admittedly, these are a bit rough. They are, respectively, the second and third pies I assembled… want to guess what happened to the first? Omnomnomnom… But my guess is that I’ll get the hang of these just like I got the hang of cupcakes: one batch at a time.
Don’t worry, cupcake, you’re not really going anywhere, we just have to make room for more trendy treats as they come along. Welcome aboard, whoopie pie!
